What advantages does Bulgaria offer as an EU location?
Bulgaria is an EU member, has been a full Schengen member since 1 January 2025 and adopted the euro on 1 January 2026. The conversion rate was fixed at 1 EUR = 1.95583 BGN, bringing the euro area to 21 member states. For buyers this means you pay in euro, checks at the EU internal borders have gone, and EU law applies to the purchase contract, the land register and consumer protection. The border with Türkiye remains a Schengen external border, where checks continue. Sources: European Commission, Deutsche Bundesbank.
