Do I need Bulgarian to live there?
Not to arrive, but yes to settle and stay. Along the coast English and Russian carry you a long way; at the authorities and with tradespeople, noticeably less far. The Cyrillic alphabet takes a few weeks; after that you read street signs, menus and forms, and that changes daily life more than it sounds. The language itself stays with you longer. We translate and accompany you to appointments, but anyone who wants to stay settles in faster with their own language skills. The settling-in guide covers language, authorities and daily life in detail.
