Will Bulgaria's main taxes change in 2027?
According to the head of government on 14 October 2026, the main taxes on income and profit and VAT stay unchanged in the 2027 budget. On the same day the Council of Ministers decides on sending the budget plan to the European Commission and the Eurogroup. Additional revenue is to come from better collection, action against fraud and a one-off contribution from banks, insurers, retail chains and telecommunications companies. Measures against fraud in property transactions are also to be tightened. For buyers and owners this means that, according to this announcement, no change is planned to the taxes on income, profit and turnover. Note that the details of the one-off contribution and of the tighter rules on property transactions will appear only in the draft law and not in the announcement. Anyone planning a purchase or sale should wait for that draft. Source: Council of Ministers of the Republic of Bulgaria.
