How high is inflation in Bulgaria?
The statistics institute NSI reports annual inflation of 5.7% for September 2026. The monthly figure is minus 0.2%, and the average for the twelve months from October 2025 to September 2026 is 5.1%. Prices have risen by 4.2% since December 2025. Month on month, the group housing, water, electricity, gas and other fuels became 0.4% dearer. Over three years inflation adds up to 12.9%, over five years to 42.4%. For owners and landlords this means: the annual rate is above the twelve-month average, but September is a single monthly value and not yet a trend. This is worth bearing in mind for index clauses in rental contracts and for reserves, which can be reviewed with the property manager.
