How good is the quality of life in Burgas and on the southern coast?

Burgas has ranked among the cities with the highest quality of life in Bulgaria for years. In the nationwide reader survey by Darik Radio and the newspaper 24 Chasa, Burgas was voted the best city to live in four times: in 2010, 2012, 2013 together with Veliko Tarnovo and most recently in 2017 with 50.4 percent. Burgas is not first every year, for example second behind Varna in 2016, but it stays reliably in the leading group. Around twenty criteria are assessed, such as infrastructure, investment, environment, culture, healthcare and proximity to the sea and mountains. The city has grown from an industrial hub into a destination for leisure and tourism, with well-kept parks, a long seafront promenade and a busy cultural calendar.
