Annual inflation in Bulgaria stood at 5.2 per cent in June 2026 according to Eurostat data, down from 6.3 per cent in May. Month on month, prices fell by 0.5 per cent. The EU average was 2.9 per cent and the euro area 2.8 per cent; only Romania and Lithuania recorded higher rates than Bulgaria. Foreign direct investment in Bulgaria reached 2.28 billion euro from January to May 2026, according to central bank data. Panteleimon Lechitel' Street, Burgas is closing a section in the 'Zornitsa' residential district on 15 and 16 July 2026, each day from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. The affected stretch runs from block 46 to the car park of the 'Perla' complex. On 10 July 2026 Tsarevo's municipal council unanimously approved an application for the project 'Support for pupils with talents' under the 'Education' programme 2021–2027. Annual real-estate tax in Bulgaria is paid in two equal instalments — by 30 June and by 31 October. For 2026 the second instalment is therefore due by the end of October. Work-related permits rose by 45.6 per cent to 12,596, while the combined single permit for residence and work grew by 68.2 per cent to 11,880. UBB, part of the KBC group, will continue to accept lev banknotes and coins for deposit into euro accounts free of charge until 30 September 2026 — beyond the statutory period that ended on 30 June. The bank says the extension is meant to help customers who still hold lev cash. Exchanging notes and coins over the counter, by contrast, follows the bank's current fee tariff. Anyone still holding leva after a property sale or from rental income gains extra time at no cost.

Since 1 July 2026, Bulgarian Posts has been exchanging lev cash into euro only for a fee: 6 euro for amounts up to 1,000 leva, 7.20 euro up to 3,000 leva, 8.80 euro up to 6,000 leva and 10 euro up to 10,000 leva. Amounts of 1,000 leva or more per day must be requested three to five working days in advance. The postal exchange service was set up above all for places without a bank branch. Anyone still holding leva should factor in the fee and the lead time.

On 1 July 2026, the amendments to the Administrative Procedure Code promulgated in State Gazette No 63/2025 took effect: procedural steps in electronic form are handled exclusively through the unified e-justice portal EPEP or the secure electronic delivery system.
