Aheloy
Aheloy sits on the Bay of Burgas, tucked between Pomorie 8 km to the south and Nessebar with Sunny Beach 6 km to the north. A 2009 decision by the Council of Ministers raised it to town status, and it ranks as a seaside resort of local importance. Anyone after a livelier scene will find it next door at Sunny Beach. Aheloy itself stays calmer: a shallow, sandy resort where an unbroken stretch of beach begins and runs roughly 10 km down to Pomorie. To the south, the river Acheloy that gives the town its name empties into the Black Sea. There is a small marina for fishing boats, sailing yachts and motorboats. For holiday property and second homes, what counts here is the mix of a long season, easy reach of the neighbouring towns' infrastructure, and a grounded place to live right on the open beach.
