How is Bulgaria's labour market developing?
The Employment Agency reports 10,800 vacancies on the primary labour market nationwide for September 2026, which is 1,141 or 12 per cent more than in August. At the end of September 154,096 unemployed people were registered, and the registered unemployment rate stood at 5.43 per cent. For owners and builders on the coast this means that the vacancy supply grew month on month, and anyone looking for staff for letting, management or a hotel is planning with that supply. Note that the rate of 5.43 per cent counts only unemployed people registered with the labour offices and cannot be compared with the Eurostat rate of 3.6 per cent for July, which is collected by a different method. The source gives no figures for the Burgas region. Source: BTA.
