How do I get from Burgas to Türkiye or Georgia?
By road you head south to the Turkish border; in your own car you need a passport and a Green Card insurance certificate. Svetlana's rule of thumb: about one hour to the Malko Tarnovo crossing, four to five hours to Istanbul by car, six to seven by coach. A ferry runs to Georgia: Black Sea Ferry Services connects Burgas with Batumi, once a week each way, leaving Burgas late on Friday evening. Reckon with about 60 hours at sea, not a short crossing. Passengers travel in four-berth cabins, a car costs around 480 euro and a minibus around 670 euro. Booking is by e-mail with the operator; there is no online portal. Svetlana says: 'For me Burgas is the best-connected place on the southern coast — its own airport, a short drive to the Turkish border and a ferry across the Black Sea.' Ferry source: Black Sea Ferry Services / Port Bulgaria West.
